My Dream, Is To Fly, Over The Rainbow, So High

I loved being in India for so many reasons. But the one reason I loved India the most was that, when I was there, I felt something I had never experienced before. I felt that if I put my mind to it, I could achieve anything I wanted to. Perhaps it was the democracy or perhaps it was the people. Either way, I got wind of what people mean when they say they want to live the 'American Dream.'

A few months ago, I packed up my Indian Dream and tucked it away, saving it for the day I return. I came back home to enjoy every other aspect of life - from family to friends to the lifestyle - except the feeling of letting those wings loose and soaring. I planned to stay here for a limited period of time, expecting to achieve nothing of consequence, because here, I couldn't dream and I couldn't aim high. And I've felt this way about this city, which paradoxically I call home, for as long as I can remember.

That is, till today. Today, I heard a different side of the story. Although laced with materialism, the theme was one of passion and hard work. And that's the way I like it. Today, I had reason to pull out that Dream I had tucked away all those months ago. And I let it fly.
